Our philosophy on AI

We use AI to help you get unstuck — not to manipulate you, monetize your attention, or make decisions for you without your knowledge. Every AI feature in Glimmerwisp Tavern is optional, transparent, and under your control. You can review and reject any AI output before it is applied.

What AI features exist in the App

• —Brain-dump intake parsing (premium / Wisp-gated): You type or speak a free-form brain dump of everything on your mind. A cloud large language model (LLM) parses your input into a structured, energy-valued task list. This is presented as a proposal — you must approve, edit, or reject it before anything is added to your journal.
• —Task energy valuation (free tier, on-device): When you manually enter a task, a lightweight on-device model estimates the appropriate energy value based on the task's estimated effort and friction. This runs entirely on your device and does not send data to any server.
• —Task splitting (free, on-device, unlimited): Any task can be split into micro-steps by tapping a button. This uses an on-device model. No data is sent to a server. Task splitting is never paywalled.
• —AI Plus extras (subscription): Voice transcription of brain dumps, calendar integration suggestions, and weekly AI reflections summarizing what you actually accomplished. These features use cloud AI services.

What AI does NOT do in the App

• —AI does not make final decisions. Every AI output is a suggestion. You always review and control what enters your task list.
• —AI does not manipulate gameplay or energy values beyond the published valuation guidance. The energy economy is deterministic and documented.
• —AI does not generate personalized advertising or behavioral profiles for advertising purposes.
• —AI does not have access to your game board, merge history, or currency balances.
• —AI does not generate content that could be mistaken for messages from real humans without disclosure.
• —Wick — the in-game AI persona — is a fictional character who represents the AI intake feature. Wick is always clearly presented as an AI assistant, never as a human.

Data handling for AI features

Brain-dump text sent to the cloud AI is used solely to produce your structured task list. It is not stored after processing, not used to train AI models, and not shared with third parties for any purpose other than processing your request. On-device AI (task valuation, task splitting) processes data locally. Nothing leaves your device for these features.

AI accuracy and limitations

AI language models can and do make mistakes. The task list Wick returns may misinterpret your intent, suggest steps that do not apply to your situation, assign energy values that feel wrong for you, or miss tasks entirely. This is why every AI-generated list is a proposal, not a fait accompli. The review screen exists to catch errors and let you correct them. You can edit any task, adjust any energy value (within ±50% of the AI estimate), delete any step, or reject the entire parse. Over time, accepted edits build a preference profile so Wick learns your context (no car, no dishwasher, gym is a home gym) and stops suggesting steps that do not apply to you.

Third-party AI providers

We use third-party AI infrastructure providers to run the cloud brain-dump parsing and other premium AI features. We choose providers based on privacy practices, output quality, and our ability to negotiate data handling terms that meet our privacy commitments. We will update this disclosure if we change AI providers in a material way.

Your control

• —You can use the App entirely without any cloud AI features — the free tier's on-device task valuation and splitting work without any data leaving your phone.
• —You can opt out of the premium AI features by not subscribing and not spending Wisps.
• —You can reject any AI-generated task list without it affecting your game progress or energy balance.
• —You can request deletion of any data associated with your account, including any stored preference profiles.
