Privacy Policy

Your to-do list is none of our business beyond what is strictly necessary to run the app — and this page says exactly what that turns out to be.

Our core privacy commitments

  • We will never sell your data. Not your task text, not your account, not anything else — no exceptions, and no "anonymised" resale either.
  • Verification photographs never leave your device. The model that looks at them runs on your phone and turns the picture into a list of numbers; the photograph itself is never uploaded, never saved, and never seen by us.
  • We do not run advertising networks, and your data is never used to profile or target you for ads.
  • We share data only with the providers needed to run the app, named below, and with nobody else.
  • You can take a copy of everything we hold, and you can delete it — from inside the app, or from this website.

What we hold

Your account. When you first open the app it creates an anonymous account for you — no email address, no password, no sign-up screen. If you link it to Google Play Games (or, on iPhone, Game Center) we store that link, so what you have bought survives a reinstall or a new phone. Your tavern and your journal. Your board, your progress, and the text of the tasks you write are saved on your device, and a copy is kept on our servers so that losing your phone is not losing your tavern. The task text is part of that save and cannot be separated from it: a save with the words stripped out would not restore anything. Task splits, only if you allow it. When you ask the scribe to break a task into steps, the text of that task is sent to our AI provider to be split. We keep a record of that request only if you have turned on the retention setting in the app, which is off unless you turn it on. Turning it off stops us keeping any more. Purchases. When you buy something we store what was bought, how much of it, and the purchase identifier Google gives us — so that a purchase is delivered exactly once, and so a refund can be traced. Usage and reliability data. We collect anonymised information about how the app is used and whether it is working: crashes, errors, and aggregate patterns such as how often tasks are completed. It is not linked to your identity and it is never shared.

What we never collect

  • Photographs. Verification runs entirely on your device, and the image is gone when you close the camera.
  • Passwords. There are none to collect — signing in happens through Google or Apple, so we never see one.
  • Your location. GPS-based verification is not in the app.
  • Contacts, calendar, messages, or anything else on your phone that the game does not need.

How we use what we hold

  • To run the game: your save, your progress, and what you have bought.
  • To split a task into steps, when you ask for it.
  • To deliver a purchase once, and to resolve refunds and disputes.
  • To keep the app working — finding crashes and errors, and understanding in aggregate which parts of the game get used.

Who else sees it

Google. Identity (Firebase and Play Games), the servers and database the game runs on, and payments through Google Play. On iPhone, Apple handles identity through Game Center and payments through the App Store. Anthropic. When you ask the scribe to split a task, the text of that task is sent to Anthropic to be broken into steps. It is used to answer that request and is not used to train their models. That is the complete list. We use no advertising SDKs and no data brokers, and we share nothing with anyone who is not needed to run the app.

Taking a copy, and deleting it

A copy of everything: Settings → Download my data. This writes a file to your device holding what our servers have about you. Deleting your account: Settings → Delete my account. This erases your tavern, your journal, your saved games, and any record of a task split. It cannot be undone. If you have already uninstalled the app, you can ask us to delete your account at glimmerwisptavern.com/delete-account. One thing survives a deletion, and only one: the record that a purchase happened — what was bought, when, and the identifier Google gave it. Financial records have to be kept, and a refund or chargeback can arrive months later. Your account identifier is stripped from that record when you delete, so what remains is a receipt belonging to nobody rather than anything about you.

Children

Glimmerwisp Tavern is intended for people aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using the app, contact us and we will delete the account promptly.

Changes to this policy

We will post material changes here, and note them in the app, before they take effect. We cannot email you about them, because we do not have your email address.
